This room is generously sized at 36 sqm and nightly rates start at an affordable USD 150. For groups or families, you can choose one of the biggest rooms in Namba – the Suite can sleep 4 and is a massive 66 sqm, with nightly rates from USD 270. JR Namba Station – You can find JR Namba Station 10 – 15 minutes walk east from Namba Station subway lines. Although the area is a bit off from the main happening area in Namba, it is just 15 minute walking distance to Dotonbori and you can find more affordable accommodations here. Even if JR Namba Station is not particularly useful for tourists, it is right beside Namba OCAT airport limousine bus hub which makes it easy to get to and from Kansai Airport or Itami Airport. Umeda provides direct train/subway access to major sites in Kansai from Kyoto, Nara, Kobe up to Himeji.
Hotel Universal Port is a five minute walk from USJ and has spacious, comfortable rooms. The hotel’s public areas have a spectacular movie themed décor, and there is an enormous exotic fish tank at the reception desk. Also on the premises is a Universal Studios Store and a ticket desk at which you can buy tickets for USJ or Osaka’s Kaiyukan Aquarium. Hotel Kintetsu Universal City is located just two minutes from USJ.
Although yatsuhashi can be purchased at most souvenir shops, the best place to purchase raw yatsuhashi is the famous Honkenishio Yatsuhashi. While other stores may carry yatsuhashi, this is the place to find all of the seasonal flavors, as well as free samples. The most convenient for tourists is probably the one on Kiyomizu-zaka, just below the entrance to Kiyomizu-dera. If you’ve just stepped off the train and the first thing on your mind is a bite to eat, there are several restaurants on the tenth and eleventh floors of the Isetan department store attached to Kyoto station.
The wider Osaka area is known as “Kansai” and, like Japan as a whole, is extremely well connected by brilliantly punctual local trains. Once there, it is possible to buy the JR Kansai Area Pass which gives unlimited travel from Osaka to local cities popular with tourists such as Nara, Kyoto and Kobe. This can be used advantageously if multiple cities are visited in a single 24 hour period. There are also a number of other cheaper regional train passes available for different parts of Japan. There are day and night highway bus connections to most large cities in Japan including Tokyo, Nagoya and Nagasaki. Local buses in Osaka connect with subway stations and railway stations rather than criss-cross the city.
You can also purchase a one-day pass (¥600 for adults and ¥250 for children under 12) with which you can ride an unlimited number of times within a one day period. The day passes can be bought from the bus drivers or from the bus information center just outside Kyoto Station.
Basing your self around the main station area, places you well, to walk into the famed Higashiyama district. In Kyoto you could stay at ‘K’s House Kyoto’ where rates start from around ¥1000 (about £7) per person per night. Hostels and economy hotels are the cheapest way of staying in Japan.
Enjoy walking around the bustling the market, where a wide array of local specialties and other products are available. Also take a short stroll in the old town area called Kami-Sannomachi. Then say goodbye to Takayama and drive to Shirakawago. You will visit Shirakawago Observatory to enjoy an elevated view of the World Heritage-registered thatch-roofed village of Shirakawago.

A map can be obtained from tourist information in Kyoto station. These “manga-kisas” (short for kissaten which means ‘cafe’) are not a thing to fear. There is nothing wrong with staying in these Japan#Last_resorts for a few nights.

The international buffet and chocolate fountain is a big hit with the kids. The hotel also has a shuttle service to a nearby hot spring spa. To maximize your time at USJ you may want to stay at one of the hotels that are located close to the park.
The 24-hour front desk offers concierge services and currency exchange services. Shin-Osaka Shinkansen Station is a 10-minute train ride away. Umeda Sky Building with an observatory is a 15-minute walk from the property. Iconic Osaka Castle can be reached within a 12-minute train ride. Nakanoshima Train Station is a 10-minute stroll from the hotel. Nen restaurant offers French dishes prepared using select colourful vegetables, and Hanaza serves delicately prepared Japanese cuisine. Lavish Chinese meals can be enjoyed at Xiang-Hu restaurant.
Another amazing thing about Honmachi is that it’s located right between Namba and Umeda , within walking distance from them. Even though this area doesn’t particularly have its own landmarks and attractions, you can easily get to Umeda or Namba and you’ll also be close to many restaurants, shopping spots, cafes and more. But Honmachi is more laid-back than my first two recommendations. Hotel FloralHotel Nami Shinsaibashi Osaka Hotel – In case you want to base yourself in the famous Shinsaibashi area, I definitely recommend this hotel. It’s located close to many main landmarks and attractions and some of its best advantages include clean and modern rooms, free Wi-Fi etc. But deciding where to stay in Osaka can be a real dread and definitely overwhelming because the city is so big!
